Washington, D.C. -- The United States Information Agency Office of Public Liaison announces the launch of "The Public Diplomacy Forum" (PDForum), an Internet resource on the USIA homepage. PDForum is designed to provide Internet users with current information about USIA's work and public and citizen diplomacy.

The PDForum includes the following features:

Spotlight -- An online journal of stories about international exchange programs, leading this week with a description of the Public Diplomacy Forum site, and an article on the media in Kyrgyzstan by a former Fulbright Scholar.

Rostrum -- An interactive site where viewers can send in their own stories about international educational experiences, and respond to the features posted on the PDForum. As an example, an account of an exchange teacher's life on a Thailand campus is featured.

Citizen Diplomat links -- A selective table of websites concerned with international exchanges and public diplomacy. This site includes a guide to Further Reading online about USIA and public diplomacy issues.

Public Diplomacy Nationwide -- This table will allow viewers to read brief accounts of USIA programs nationwide, listed state-by-state. Several USIA programs overseas are also highlighted, organized by world region. This feature will be developed further and updated weekly.
