UPDATE ON THE MENTORING PROGRAM
OCR congratulates the 45 USIA partners
and managers who participated in our February 3rd kickoff of the 1998 Mentoring
program. These new mentoring partnerships encourage employees to make roadmaps
for their career objectives. Therefore, during the 1998 eight-month program, there
will be a variety of workshops focusing on formulating Individual Development
Plans (IDP), positive image-building, public speaking, resume preparation, avoiding
the crossfire of office politics. Mentorees will meet at least four times a month
with their respective Mentors.
In September, a graduation ceremony
will take place and OCR will begin working on the 1999 mentoring partnerships.
OCR is extremely proud of this
program and sincerely appreciates the willingness of managers and supervisors
to take time out of their hectic schedules to volunteer to "coach"
employees who are earnestly seeking to improve their promotion and career advancement
prospects. A Big Thank You to each and every one of you!
