USIS? USIA? What's the difference?

USIA is the acronym for the "United States Information Agency," headquartered in Washington, D.C.

USIS is the acronym for "United States Information Service," the name given to offices, or posts, overseas which represent the United States Information Agency. "USIS Rabat" or "USIS Sao Paulo" is the form of address used for posts overseas.
