USIA English Language Programs Abroad

The U.S. Information Agency works with three types of English language programs outside of the United States: Binational Centers, USIA/USIS Direct Programs, and USIA/USIS Affiliated Programs.

USIA does not engage in the recruitment or hire of English language teachers for any of these programs. If you are interested in teaching in one of these programs (which usually hire teachers who are already in country, pay local wages and benefits, and typically provide no international travel or medical benefits), send your inquiries directly to a specific program.

Sometimes USIA in Washington will assist with the selection of a Director for a USIA/USIS Direct Program or for a Binational Center. When these Director positions are open, they are sometimes advertised on the USIA Online Jobs Information page.
