major industrial nations to meet in an informal setting and
discuss the major issues facing the world.
When is the G8 Summit?
The Sea Island Summit will take place June 8-10, 2004. The
G8 countries take turns hosting the annual Summits. The
United States assumed the Presidency of the G8 in 2004.
President George W. Bush selected Sea Island, Georgia as
the site of this year’s Summit.
