Bob Scanlon, G8 Project Coordinator
Bob Scanlon has served as the project coordinator for the city of Savannah's preparations for hosting the G8 Summit. Bob is the Environmental Affairs Officer for the city of Savannah. Prior to joining the city, Bob spent 32 years in the Chemical Industry having retired from Kerr McGee Corporation following their acquisition of Kemira Pigments Inc, where he was Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
Since moving to Savannah in 1980, Bob has been involved with several civic and charitable organizations. He has chaired the Boards of Directors of the Savannah Chapter of the Red Cross, Hospice Savannah, and the United Way of the Coastal Empire also serving as United Way campaign chair in 2001. Bob currently serves on the boards of the Hospice Savannah Foundation, St Mary's Childrens Home, and chairs the board of Senior Citizens Inc.
Bob is a past chair of the Manufacturers Council of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Chamber's Board of Directors.
