Michael B. Brown, Savannah City Manager
Michael earned a Bachelor's Degree in Government, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Virginia . He served an internship in the City Manager's Office in Charlottesville, Virginia.
His first position as a City Manager was in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, which is a community of 4,000 people, south of Nashville.
He then accepted the position of City Manager for Stratford, Connecticut, community of 50,000 people about 50 miles from New York City.
He served nine years as Assistant City Manager of Savannah before becoming City Manager of Columbus, Georgia from 1989 to 1994. Columbus is a consolidated city and county government serving 180,000.
On January 1, 1995, Michael Brown became City Manager of Savannah, a very historic city, with a population of 134,000+.
Michael is married, and has two sons and one daughter.
