Savannah, GA. - Today the Sea Island Summit Planning Organization (SISPO) announced that President George W. Bush has recorded a radio message thanking residents in Coastal Georgia for their kind hospitality in hosting the G8 Summit.
"Coastal Georgia 's natural beauty and gracious hospitality represent some of the best that America has to offer," President Bush says in the radio message that will begin airing on all radio stations in the Coastal Georgia area today.
President Bush is hosting the annual G8 Summit this year. The Summit will take place June 8th, 9th, and 10th in Sea Island, Georgia.
The following is a transcript of the message:
"This is George W. Bush. As you know, the G8 Summit is coming to Coastal Georgia, June 8th, 9th, and 10th. Armies of journalists from around the globe will soon arrive. Governor Perdue will help welcome leaders and dignitaries from more than a dozen nations to these important meetings.
Thousands of Georgians are preparing for these guests. Hotel and restaurant workers, first responders and hundreds of volunteers are working hard to make everyone's stay pleasant, productive, and safe. Please know that America appreciates all you are doing to welcome these international visitors to the Summit. They will soon discover what I already know. That Coastal Georgia's natural beauty and gracious hospitality represent some of the best that America has to offer."
