                       U.S. Foreign Policy Town Meeting
                              Richmond, Virginia
                              January 30, 1997



The World Affairs Council of Greater Richmond and the U.S. Department of 
State are co-sponsoring a Town Meeting on U.S. Foreign Policy at the 
University of Richmond's Modlin Center for the Arts on Thursday, January 
30, 1997 (8:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.).

The program will consist of four consecutive sessions including lunch 
with Department officials:


Mr. Nicholas Burns, Spokesman and Acting Assistant Secretary for Public 
Affairs;

Mr. Aaron Miller, Deputy Middle East Coordinator;

Ambassador Philip C. Wilcox, Coordinator for Counterterrorism; and

Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering, President, Eurasia Foundation and former 
Ambassador to the Russian Federation.


Distinguished local experts will moderate the discussions.

The event is OPEN for press coverage.
