           Assistant Secretary Kornblum's Trip to the Balkans   
   
Assistant Secretary John Kornblum and his inter-agency team will depart   
for Europe on Wednesday October 2, 1996 to consult with Allies and visit   
the Balkans.  Assistant Secretary Kornblum will then travel to Zagreb to   
meet with President Tudjman and then proceed to Sarajevo to attend the   
inaugural sessions of the Presidency and the House of Representatives of   
the Parliamentary Assembly.  Assistant Secretary Kornblum and his inter-  
agency team will return to Washington on Sunday October 6.
