1. Bosnia Q: What are the rules regarding air strikes in the Sarajevo exclusion zone? Why hasn't NATO launched air strikes in light of recent Bosnian Serb violations of the zone?

A: HEAVY WEAPONS WITHIN THE SARAJEVO EXCLUSION Z0NE WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN PLACED UNDER UNPROFOR CONTROL ARE SUBJECT TO NATO AIR STRIKES PURSUANT TO THE FEBRUARY 9, 1994 DECISION OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC COUNCIL (NAC).

-- NATO MILITARY AUTHORITIES WOULD COORDINATE AIR STRIKES CLOSELY WITH UNPROFOR COMMANDERS ON THE GROUND.

-- WITH RESPECT TO RECENT BOSNIAN SERB VIOLATIONS, NATO MILITARY AUTHORITIES ARE IN CONTACT WITH UNPROFOR. UNPROFOR BOSNIA COMMANDER GENERAL ROSE'S ACTIVELY PURSUING THIS MATTER.
