1. Bosnia

Q: In light of the upcoming NAC on Bosnia, has NATO formed a Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) for Bosnia and if so, whether such a mechanism can be used for Bosnia?

A: --NO. NATO HAS NOT FORMED A COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE FOR BOSNIA.

--THE NATO THEATER COMMAND (AFSOUTH), HAS BEEN COORDINATING WITH UNPROFOR ON A VARIETY OF ISSUES, INCLUDING CLOSE AIR SUPPORT AND NO-FLY ZONE ENFORCEMENT.

--IN ADDITION, ELEMENTS FROM A NATO HEADQUARTERS (NORTHAG), ARE ALREADY DEPLOYED WITH UNPROFOR.

2. BULGARIA/ROMANIA

Q: Have you received any indications that Bulgaria and Romania are interested in broadening relations with Serbia?

A: WE ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY CHANGE IN RELATIONS BETWEEN BULGARIA AND SERBIA, OR ROMANIA AND SERBIA.

--BOTH THE GOVERNMENT OF BULGARIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF ROMANIA HAVE FREQUENTLY AFFIRMED THEIR INTENTION TO ENFORCE U.N.-MANDATED SANCTIONS WITH RESPECT TO SERBIA/MONTENEGRO.(###)
