1.  FORMER YUGOSLAVIA
Q:  Where is Ambassador Charles Redman, the new Special Envoy to
the former Yugoslavia?

A:  AMBASSADOR CHARLES REDMAN WAS IN BRUSSELS TODAY FOR THE MEETING OF 
THE NORTH ATLANTIC COUNCIL (NAC), AS PART OF THE DELEGATION HEADED BY 
ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE STEPHEN A. OXMAN.  HE IS SCHEDULED TO 
TRAVEL TO GENEVA TOMORROW FOR CONSULTATIONS ON THE PEACE TALKS ON 
BOSNIA.


2.  GEORGIA
Q:  How many Americans diplomats are there in Tbilisi?  Are they 
considered to be at risk?  Have any special precautions been take at the 
Embassy?

A:  EMBASSY TBILISI HAS A PERMANENT STAFF OF TWELVE AMERICANS.  WE ARE 
TAKING NORMAL SECURITY PRECAUTIONS.  WE DO NOT HAVE ANY INDICATION THAT 
THERE IS A GENERAL THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF EMBASSY STAFF OR PRIVATE U.S. 
CITIZENS IN TBILISI.(###)
